I want more of this incredibly descriptive rap that really gives you a feel for what being there feels like. in case you haven't listened to the song, here are some highlights:

fried the banana, heart of palm ribbons fish from the river, sauces made of citrus on a screen porch pimpled after dark with frogs and lizards when high as hell they might as well be mothras and godzillas
you hit the labyrinth an ambassador of peace and love you might return with the root of your superego plunged the river boils when it sees me

2021.10.20 22:20 cantoffendme Ink cartridge refills in HRM?

Looking to get my HP ink cartridges refilled. Any places in HRM that fills cartridges? Cartridges are HP 63 I believe. Costco no longer provides this service which sucks big time and the cost for new cartridges is not worth it as they actually cost more than I paid for my printer.

Training I signed up for this race back in January of 2020. I had just completed a 10K in October of 2019, and my idea was to go big or go home. Obviously, the pandemic got in the way of that, and rather than do my first marathon virtually in 2020 I deferred. I did do my first half virtually in October of 2020 and finished in under two hours.I started training this year on a power based plan by Steve Palladino. I like training by power, though admittedly I was not ready for the intensity of the plan, and didn't understand power as well as I should have before starting.
Started in June, and that was okay for a bit, but July and August were killer. The heat and humidity where I live (Missouri) was ridiculous, and I'm not great at waking up early so I would battle through my long runs in 90 degree temperatures, only to give up halfway through and wonder what the hell was wrong with me. I was also going through a lot personally at this time, with a change in jobs and the loss of loved ones. I over-fixated on running as the cure to all of my problems, and so when I wasn't performing as well as I liked (stopping at six miles in what should have been a 13 mile run), I thought that I would never be able to complete a marathon. I posted a selfie once after a run on Facebook, and my old coach from high school track reached out to me. He's paced the Chicago marathon for several years, and his advice was invaluable to me. When I felt like dropping to a half at Week 8 of my program, he talked through my options with me. I'm very much a doom or gloom person, and a lot of where I felt I "should be" was based on what I read on Reddit, or some running article online. He really walked me through my fears and got me to understand two very important things: 1) Everyone sucks at running in the summer heat & 2) The battle is 100% mental.
After we talked, I abandoned my training plan with 8 weeks remaining until the race. Yes, I know this is probably not ideal. But sticking to the plan was making me a crazy person. It felt like it was carved in stone and if I messed up, or didn't hit my targets, I wouldn't succeed. So instead I continued my training my building my long run up to 20 mile long runs, and increased my mileage bit by bit. Peak week was 42 miles. I also did some of my shorter long runs (15-16 miles) on the treadmill. I know this isn't ideal either, but watching a movie and running at a precise pace the entire time really got me out of my head.
Pre-race I was worried about not being able to sleep the night before because I had often lost sleep the night before my long runs due to the anxiety. Losing an hour to the time zone difference didn't help either. Somehow, miraculously, I fell asleep at around 10:30 the night before the race and woke up at 5:30, which is a decent amount of sleep for me. My hotel was a block from the start line, so I didn't have to stress about driving or parking. For breakfast, I ate a bagel and drank about 15 oz of water, which is about all I can stomach before a run. Walked over to the start and waited in my corral. It was a bit intimidating, I've really only run very small, local 5ks before so it was a different kind of energy. If I knew someone there, that probably would have helped. I was very jealous of everyone around me who seemed excited and happy. At this point, I was very much doubting whether or not I would be able to finish, and it was all I could think about until the race started.
Race The nice thing about running in a bigger race in a city you've never been to before is that everything is new, and that helped take my mind off the "omg omg what if I don't finish" type of thoughts. The weather was perfect at around 46 degrees at the start, t-shirt and shorts weather for me. Two things went wrong right at the start. First, my Stryd would not connect. It ended up connecting only three times during the entire race, and gave me power outputs that were completely out of my normal range, so it was clearly malfunctioning. Second, I broke the "nothing new on race day" rule and wore a bib belt to hold my gels, and I lost two of the gels before even starting the race. Whoops.
My biggest goal for the first half of the race was to just pace myself. I knew that my legs would feel a little too fresh from the taper, as evidenced by the two short runs I had done earlier that week where I ran each 30 seconds to a minute faster than my marathon pace. I also was in a corral that I thought would be slightly too fast by about 15 seconds. It is unnerving when everyone is passing by you at the beginning of a race, but I tried to just focus on the sights around me, rather than the people. Detroit is a really beautiful city. From one city with a bad reputation (STL) to another, I think it's spectacular and I really enjoyed the first half of the course. I had a Harry Potter audiobook on, just to have something to listen to if the course wasn't enough to distract me from my negative thoughts, but I ended up not hearing most of it.
Second half of the course was actually my favorite! I loved the spectators in Indian Village that handed out everything from pickle shots to fireball (I took none of it, but the thought was appreciated!) Belle Isle was actually my favorite part of the course, which is funny because everyone I talked to after the race seemed to hate it. It was windy, and the bridge wasn't the easiest on the legs, but it was beautiful. It was also a time when people were starting to hit "the wall", and I expected to hit it at some point, but I didn't. This was probably due to a combination of factors. I really dialed in my fueling and made sure to keep it identical to my training, and I walked (5-10 seconds) through each fluid station. The walking really helped, even though it was short, it brought down my heart rate a bit each time, and allowed me to refocus.
Somewhere between Mile 23-24 the course entered the Riverwalk, which I also loved because I could see Canada across the river. Unfortunately, I took pretty bad fall at this entrance. I saw three people on the ground in front of me, and my eyes were on them, and not what tripped them up. And that's how I became the fourth victim. I didn't look to see what caused my fall when I fell, I just hit the ground and landed on my hands and knees. My calf cramped up and I swore. Two other first timers helped me up. Honestly, they were angels, because if they weren't there I'm not sure what I would've done. It felt like I was in a lot of pain at that moment, but being a victim of my own worrying many times during training, I didn't trust my brain to give me an accurate pain reading. So, off I went, feeling pretty pissed about the fall and letting that anger fuel me to the finish, haha. Crossing the finish line was huge, and I cried, because I had dedicated my bib to someone that I had lost a year minus one day ago, and it felt like I had accomplished something amazing, but that I was also saying goodbye all over again.
Post-race When I tried to open my post race milk I realized I couldn't bend the fingers in my right hand properly to twist the cap. My ring finger was swollen and blue/black, likely a sprain. When I asked a stranger to open my milk, I noticed them looking at my knee and that's when I looked down and saw it bleeding. I don't know how I didn't feel it bleeding when I fell, but it was a pretty large scrape. I went to a medic tent for ice for my hand and they wanted to wrap my knee, but I, like a very dumb person, insisted that I didn't want it cleaned up so that I could have it in the photos that my husband was going to take (he was outside of the finish chute). To the medics that tried to take care of me, sorry I was an idiot! I did like having my wound in full display on my photos, but it would have been easier to let them clean it. We did pass another medic volunteer on the way back to the hotel that gave me bandages so I could clean it up myself.
Spent the rest of the day relaxing in the hotel, and gorged myself on ice cream later. It was a great day, but it all went by so fast. I'm having post-marathon blues now and can't wait to run again, once my knee can scab up a bit more. Finger is much better though!

2021.10.20 22:20 BIDCANONLY [Bedrock] Want to make a grade system based on what the players do

I play bedrock on windows 10. I am making a rpg like world for my friends with just on mod ( making the game harcore basically) I've implemented my own way of reviving players. The catch is it is very expensive.
So to Revive a player, you would need to go on a quest to a necromancer house. (Basically obtaining the tag saying they can craft this now). Craft a unique book for the dead player. (Everyone has their own unique book). Take the book, along with the dead player and a couple more ingredients, Revive them at a specific monument in the world. Then that's it.
But when the player is dead they are invisible and in adventure mode. Since it is bedrock. The most they can interact is chests and doors. They tp away from the alive player if they are close enough. I want to put the dead player through a test in their afterlife. Grading them on specific things. Like maybe how many levels they had, or how many enemies they have killed, etc.
What I thought about doing was giving them a scoreboard and depending on what they did it would either give or take points based on what they did. What are somethings I could grade a player on and how could I implement that?

2021.10.20 22:20 azredbeard Strongly considering the Sebo Felix

I've done a lot of reading through the threads here and finally decided to make my own.
~2200 Sqft. house w/ 2 kids (no pets). Probably 60% hardwood/tile, 40% carpet (bedrooms). The highest traffic area is the hardwood (kitchen, dining, living room).
I had considered a Miele, but it seems like carpet isn't the strong suit and I have been really impressed with reviews for the Felix as well as the 10 yr warranty.
Anything else I should be considering? Looking at ~$720 including the attachment hose extra.
Should I try to buy local first vs something like evacuumstore? I like that there's no tax.

2021.10.20 22:20 CuppCake529 Am I a kitchen witch?

I'm new ish to this world. I've dabbled throughout my life but I'm just now getting serious about spirituality and all that entails. I have this weird thing where I make good food.... but I don't try? Like I add seasonings and herbs, but I have no idea what I'm doing I just add what I have and.... it's good. Example: tonight I made chicken and potato soup.... I took ingredients that I have in my house with no idea if they even go together.... BAM great dinner. But it's ALWAYS like that. Also I never measure anything.... I just put in until it feels right.... rarely have to add more it just..... magically works out? No pun intended. Anyway I'm wondering..... am I a kitchen witch?
