2021.12.01 19:14 objectOriented88 Question about "Applications Support Tech" for big multinational company.
Hello, so I am very close to a Computer Science/Software Engineering degree. I basically have a second interview for an applications support tech position for this company. A recruiter contacted me for so and it starts at over $70k a year and I'm not even graduated, so why not. The general description doesn't sound like a help desk at all and it sounds a lot more technical. They emailed me a coding challenge that was a data cleaning/parsing file reading/writing assignment to complete. So it definitely seems like a technical job but I have no idea what the actual job truly is.
I don't want to sound ungrateful at all but it seems there is a general attitude on some subreddits that if you take these tech jobs while on a Software EngineeDeveloper trajectory that you'll get pigeonholed into this type of role. I here this a lot about some Software support/testing positions. I shouldn't really care what other people think, but is this true? I'm probably perpetuating this potential myth merely by asking about it.
Is this a job that I should pursue? I mean I would be stoked to be making over $70k right now. Also, if it's a relatively easy job, I could drop to part time school and work. I do want to eventually make over six figures, so I am just worried that the stigma is actually real and it could affect me down the road.
What do you guys think?

2021.12.01 19:14 Any_Humor_9790 I feel guilty
I have a 16 year old miniature poodle that I'm considering putting down. It needs to be done but I feel guilty that it's before Christmas. He's about 95% blind from cataracts and is showing signs of dementia. Plus he recently started having seizures. He just spends his days circling and running into everything. He's always on edge. I just moved so I have minimum furniture but that doesn't stop him from running into objects or even the walls and doors even if I put up barriers. The medication he's on for the seizures is making him urinate so he has to wear a diaper and goes in it at least once or twice a day. I wanted to wait until after the holidays so he could spend Christmas with me in our first apartment (had him since I was 13). But honestly each day I feel like I'm making him suffer just for my own benefit. It's not like he's going to know that it's Christmas.

I play a lot of different games and have different redeems per game, for example, a lot of Apex-specific redeems for each champion, each job for Final Fantasy 14, etc.
Is there a way to mass switch on/off certain channel point redeems so it's easier for viewers to see relevant redeems and not waste their points?

2021.12.01 19:14 tommyjean1 Up 70% Again This Month (Miami Coin Stacking Strategy) (HUGE UPDATE)
Everyone knows how the MIA APY % keeps dropping.
I posted how my 280% APY was more like 400%+ despite the drop in APY.
I got many comments disagreeing with my returns. So I am here to tell you exactly HOW I am getting these % gains.
As you know, the latest cycle of MIA dropped again to 175% APY. Yet I am here again to say I am up 70% again with returns of around 580% APY.
Last post I explained how I sold my STX reward to USD, then I would try to time the MIA coin market and Compound during a flash dip. Which was successful.
Well this time around, I actually held my STX, Which was rewarded around $1.80 per STX at the end of last cycle. and Yesterday STX mooned all the way to $3.20 and I sold my reward. Almost doubling my STX reward from the MIA cycle.
I would normally buy my new stake of MIA at this time, But MIA has also been rising with STX. Thankfully Okcoin just released a new promo for 175% APY for SNX and it's Flexible (end staking anytime), PLUS SNX is at a major local low. SO i'm holding my MIA rewards in SNX gaining massive APY until I see MIA dip within the next 10 days, and I'll buy again. Hopefully, this makes sense.
I know this isn't a lot of money, But I started at $150 and it hasn't even been 6 months yet.
This strategy has been making major % gains every month and I can't think of a better way to take advantage of STX & MIA in a better way rn.
If you wan't to also do this, This can only Be done on OKcoin
So click that LINK , Get started, Only 9 days left till the next cycle starts. My DM's are open.

2021.12.01 19:14 sub_par_lasagna How old should my hognose be before living in a 10g container?
My hognose just turned 6 mos old. So far we’ve had three successful feedings and 1 unsuccessful. He’s 17g and living in a 10g container. Would you all leave him in a 10g given what I said or would he possibly thrive even better in a smaller container? Thx everyone for any insight from experience!

2021.12.01 19:14 Shadowlands97 Incompetence in the shop...?
So I just want to know how common it is for people to have mislabeled tools on milling setup sheets and then use different tools than what is listed on said setup sheet without any reason given. Have you ever had programs that were written and that produce parts supposedly passed through inspection to be shown to a part runner, only for said part runner to show that it never could have possibly passed through inspection with how the checks were wrong after about 300 parts have been run? Ever have programmers look at you weird when you tell them their programs are wrong and they kinda give you that "Then why can't you fix it yourself?" look even when they know the Shop Manager didn't want setup guy to learn programming yet (they wanted the programmer to fix his own effups instead of you) and the programmer still knows they need to teach them programming? I'm just sick of this almost day in and day out. People saying parts and programs are good when they aren't after I'm checking them and I need to bring it to the attention of the shop owners. It's not like they are doing this on purpose. It's just that it might be a different machine or a different type of the same machine, or even environmental factors.
Basically, I was shown a part 300 parts ago, and the setup guy (who is also our head inspector) said that a pin check was good even though it didn't go all the way through. I gave him the benefit of doubt, since he was our Head Inspector, and ran the parts. Come to find out, today it wasn't going in all the way down the counter bore, so I brought it to the attention of my boss (shop owner #1). He was pretty shocked to realize they were run like this, and said it was a junk part because counter bore pin checks are supposed to always go all the way. This seems like common sense, but I actually didn't know this. See, I'm rarely taught anything. I'm more of thrown to the wolves and left alone to see if I'm still kinda hanging on, due to the initial things that happen to setup sheets and programs detailed above. Anyway, he took my word for it and was really shocked I actually let them go because I normally catch things that are wrong that most people would just let go (including the shop owners). They both say I have a really good eye for detail. It actually shocks me that they have let things that I have found go, but that's a whole seperate event. So, come to find out the problem was my rougher was...ahem...missing a flute and had a second one gnawed on pretty bad. My finisher was not in awesome condition but was nothing like the rougher. After fixing that I guess one of the programmers (not the one that wrote this one) had to change the spindle speed and the type of cut and then program in a dead pass. I guess gunk built up in the toolpath and caused the chipping or whatever. Supposedly it's fixed. I'll know tomorrow.
Any idea how to manage the stress of this? Besides playing every Doom game imaginable? That actually does help when I get home, but it's stressful during work hours while this is going on. Honestly the next time something like this happens I'm just going to tell them to fix it while I eat lunch. I'm sick of people saying things are good when they aren't. It's a waste of productivity. That plus I've been getting in to work earlier than they have after only working about half the years they have. Getting up at 4 in the morning and still staying for 9-10.5 hour shifts and dealing with this doesn't help anything. And then I need to wait for them to get in. I'm sick of being the middle man even though I'm hourly and getting paid decently, like every other coworker. All the money in the world isn't enough for me to need to sit through incompetence and watching people do things wrong. Sorry for the rant, but I just need to really, really badly. Thanks!

2021.12.01 19:14 Sketch3000 Anyone using Google TV and feel like the audio just isn't as good as other streaming options?
Trying to figure out if I am imagining things or if the Google TV is indeed a bit wonky.
I just upgraded my Google Chromecast to Google TV on both theatre and my Living room TV. The sound to me comes out very harsh, the best I can describe it as if you were to record your voice speaking too closely to the microphone and at certain moments the audio is just too high.
Does that make sense? It's generally good sound, just at moments sounds very sharp/trill.
I upgraded my theater to Google TV first, at the same time as my A/V Processor. At first, I was experiencing the issue, and I chalked it up to not having my settings dialed in properly on my processor.
This week I ordered a second Google TV for my television and the issue seems to be present on this now as well. It's so nitpicky though that I can't tell if I am imagining it or not - it's something the general user wouldn't likely notice, but now I feel like it's all I can focus on.
Next step will be to swap back to Chromecast on both devices and see if I can notice a difference. I just had this realization and wanted to bring it up to see if anyone else has experienced this?
